What is FBC like?
At First Baptist Church, you can expect a real family atmosphere. God's people here at FBC are very friendly and committed to creating a welcoming environment. Dress comfortably!
We have one service every Sunday morning at 9:45 am. The service lasts until 11:00 or 11:15. The music is a blend of modern and traditional. You may hear traditional hymns with a piano and organ, a 5-piece rock band, or a bluegrass band with a banjo and guitar. The structure of a Sunday morning service varies, but includes an opportunity to take communion, worship with music, testimonies or a "Ministry Minute", and a 40-minute message presented by our pastor Deron Johnson.
While often presented with humor and stories, the preaching and teaching comes only from the Word of God, and in your search in finding a church home we encourage you to be "examining the Scriptures daily to see if these things were so" as the Bereans in the book of Acts were recorded to do.
Sunday School
We also offer Sunday School for ages three to adult from 8:30-9:30. Our separate Sunday School classes include:
- Pre-School (3-5 years)
- Kindergarden - 1st
- 2nd - 4th
- 5th - 6th
- 7th - 12th
- Adult
What if I have children?
Children's church (optional) is for ages K-6 during the service. This serves as an opportunity for parents to listen without distraction, but is optional if you prefer to have your children with you. The primary focus of children's church is scripture memory through fun activities and song.
Nursery is available for children under three years of age during Sunday School and church service.
